According to the traditional Sikh sources, Satguru Nanak Dev appeared on Earth in the month of Katak (october/november) 1469 during Pooranmashi, the full moon - 1526 Bikrami Katak Pooranmashi 1469 AD. The Satguru is the manifested Sargun Roop of Akaal Purakh Waheguru (God) to dispell the darkness on earth, to uplift humanity, to free the individual soul to unite with the wondrous enlightener, and illuminator - Waheguru, God almighty.
